Dances | Get Your Guests Moving! 
Sophisticated Swing has a large library of over 500 dance tunes, so it's easy to plan a selection of music that works for your event. We will develop a program with you to satisfy the musical tastes of your guests. We offer a variety of musical styles and can select music that reflects a balance of old & new, fast & slow, vocal & instrumental.
Our goal is to have everyone dancing and relating to the music. We only play tunes that we believe our audiences will recognize and connect with their past musical memories and personal experiences.
Outdoor Concerts | Fun Under the Sun 
Sophisticated Swing specializes in entertaining outdoor audiences. Many of our appearances have been at outdoor gatherings, including the Sunday Serenades Concert Series at Mel Lastman Square (left), where we played several concerts for audiences exceeding 3000 people.
Fundraising Galas | Music For a Good Cause 
Sophisticated Swing is no stranger to fundraising events. Our appearance at the Toronto Congress Centre for the Credit Valley Hospital Foundation's major gala was one of the highlights of our band's career.
Sophisticated Swing was pleased as well to provide the music for the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association Fundraising Gala at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in September 2003.
Jazz Concerts | Jazz With a Big Band Sound 
Sophisticated Swing's big band music repertoire includes a large component of big band jazz. We used this repertoire at the Oakville Jazz Festival and at our very recent jazz concert at the Royal Botanical Gardens Summer Jazz Concert Series in Burlington.
Our musicians are polished and accomplished jazz performers who love to display their skill in this type of venue.
Private Parties (New Year's Eve) | We Can Get Any Party Swinging! 
Sophisticated Swing is well prepared to provide the music for your private affair - whether the music be for listening, dancing or both. Our extensive array of arrangements includes everything from polkas to waltzes to line-dancing, and will work closely with you to provide just the right mix of music to suit your group.
Weddings | Because Your Special Day Should Sound Great
Sophisticated Swing is experienced at meeting the musical needs of wedding receptions and celebrations. We will meet with the bride & groom and their delegates to plan the perfect balance of music to match the musical tastes of you and your wedding guests. 
We have a large number of specialty tunes which include the Bridal March and Wedding Processional, celebratory music such as Celebration (by Kool & the Gang), Have Negila and The Stripper.
If you have a special musical request, we are very accommodating. We even wrote an arrangement of Somebody (by Depeche Mode) because of a request we received from a bride and groom!
We can also provide direct references to happy couples who engaged Sophisticated Swing for their wedding celebrations. Let us help make your wedding reception an event you will always cherish.
Sophisticated Brass | For a Touch of Class
Sophisticated Brass is an exciting new brass quintet now performing for audiences who enjoy the interesting and elegant sound of brass quintet music. This brass quintet plays for special events such as weddings, concerts, choir presentations, etc. These 5 musicians have a wide repertoire of classical, religious and popular music.
Sophisticated Brass performs a variety of musical styles including classical selections, show tunes from Broadway musicals, pop music tunes, and selections from the world of jazz..
Instrumentation: 2 Trumpets, French Horn, Trombone. Tuba
Sophisticated Brass Ensemble |
Sophisticated Brass Ensemble is a 10-14 piece extension of the quintet. This group is used to accompany choirs in major choral works and presentations.
Typical Instrumentation: 3 Trumpets, 4 French Horns, 3 trombones, 1 tuba, 2 percussionists.
